Responsible AI Use Policy
Last updated: 4/17/2026
At Kurama Studios, we believe artificial intelligence is a powerful tool for creativity, innovation, and efficiency - but it must be used responsibly. This policy outlines our ethical standards, the types of AI projects we accept, and the principles that guide every AI-assisted engagement we deliver.
1. Our Philosophy
AI can accelerate creativity and unlock entirely new possibilities. However, it must never replace accountability, human judgment, or ethical decision-making.
We commit to using AI in a way that is:
- Intentional - applied thoughtfully, not recklessly
- Human-guided - always reviewed, shaped, and approved by real people
- Transparent - with clear communication around how AI is used
- Ethically and legally grounded - aligned with global standards and client values
AI assists our process; it does not replace responsibility.
2. Acceptable AI Practices
We support AI projects that are:
- Ethical, lawful, and respectful
- Helpfully disclosed as AI-generated or AI-assisted where appropriate
- Designed to inform, entertain, or enhance user experiences
- In alignment with the client’s brand, purpose, and audience expectations
Examples of acceptable work include:
- AI-generated imagery, audio, and video for marketing, campaigns, and storytelling
- AI-assisted writing, editing, or ideation
- Workflow automation and productivity enhancements
- Creative experimentation and concept development
3. Prohibited AI Use
We maintain a strict policy against harmful, deceptive, or exploitative uses of AI.
3.1 Harmful or Abusive Content (Strictly Prohibited)
We do not create or support AI content involving:
- Sexual or sexualised material
- Harassment, hate speech, or threats
- Racist, xenophobic, extremist, or discriminatory material
- Demeaning portrayals of individuals or groups
3.2 Deceptive or Misleading AI Practices
We do not engage in:
- Deepfakes of real people without explicit written consent
- Impersonation of public figures, brands, or private individuals
- AI-designed content intended to obscure the truth or mislead users
- Political persuasion, misinformation, or propaganda
3.3 Exploitative or Unethical Applications
We do not participate in AI work that:
- Violates privacy or data protection standards
- Engages in unauthorized surveillance or profiling
- Manipulates vulnerable individuals or groups
- Misuses personal data or collects data without proper consent
If a project includes any of these elements, we will decline it, regardless of budget or scope.
4. Human Oversight & Governance
Every AI project at Kurama Studios includes:
- Human creative direction
- Ethical and legal risk assessment
- Quality control and refinement
- Ongoing review from project start to completion
We may pause or discontinue a project if:
- It violates this policy
- New information introduces ethical or legal risks
- Its purpose shifts into a prohibited category
We continuously stay informed on AI safety, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
5. Transparency & Accountability
We communicate clearly about:
- When and how AI is used in a project
- The limitations of AI-generated content
- The role of human editing, oversight, and decision-making
Clients are encouraged to ask questions about our AI methods at any stage.
6. Client Responsibilities
To maintain compliance and ethical integrity, clients must:
- Provide lawful, rights-cleared data and materials
- Disclose when personal data or likenesses are included
- Obtain necessary permissions for individuals featured in deliverables
- Refrain from using our AI outputs for harmful or deceptive purposes
7. Our Commitment
We aim to create AI-driven work that is:
- Creatively ambitious
- Technically rigorous
- Ethically grounded
AI is powerful - and with power comes responsibility. We take that responsibility seriously.
